OUR CALLING:

  1. We have received a ministry.
  2. We’ve been given responsibility to do something with the ministry.
  • Evangelize
  • Call sin for what it is. Stand up for truth.
  • Instruct-give insight to truth.

OUR ACTIONS:

  1. We must take our calling seriously.
  2. We must give our best.
  3. We must finish the task.
  • Acts 20: 24- The task of testifying the gospel of God’s grace.

GOD’S ROLE:

  1. We are accountable to God (2 Corinthians 5:10)
  2. We are His stewards. ( 1 Collosians 4:1-2)
  3. He provides all that is necessary to complete it [ the task.] ( Hebrews 13:21, Philippians 2:13, Colossians 1:29)

THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE HOUSE CHURCH:

  1. It was orthodox in its gatherings.
  2. It was Word-centered.
  3. It was primarily relational not institutional.
  4. It was a way of life.
  5. It was out-reach directed.

APPLICATION:  RADICAL REFORMATION

  1. We must maintain the core essentials.
  2. We must demonstrate love & deference.
  3. We must be discerning.
  4. We must have compassion.
  5. We must avoid three key deadly viruses.  Popularity, Greed and Power
  6. We must never forget we may become the underground church.
